The Next Thirty Years of Antarctic Protection

October 4 marks the 30th Anniversary of the signing of the Madrid or Environmental Protocol. ASOC seeks to celebrate this occasion with an event that commemorates the successes of the Protocol while also encouraging greater global ambition for the next thirty years of Antarctic protection. This free-ranging and provocative event will bring forward new ideas and challenge world leaders participating in Antarctic governance to increase their ambition at the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting and CCAMLR, while conveying the importance the public places on Antarctic protection.
