IUCN Digest - 24 March 2022
IUCN Digest

Welcome to the bi-weekly digest for IUCN Members and IUCN Commission members.
Message from the Director General

It has been a busy period with the resumed sessions of the Convention on Biological Diversity. I was proud to raise the voices of the Union during the opening plenary (picture above), where I called for a Global Biodiversity Framework that is fit for purpose and that leads to necessary urgent action. My appreciation goes to the International Policy Centre team, who jumped into the negotiations straight from the 5th session of the UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi. As we approach the CBD COP in Kunming, IUCN will continue to champion a Global Biodiversity Framework for a just world that values and conserves nature. Finally, as we just marked World Water Day on Monday, my thanks go to the West and Central Africa Office team for holding our Union’s flag high at the 9th World Water Forum in Senegal. BUTTON
