Introduction
The UNCAC Coalition’s Environmental Crime and Corruption Working Group is pleased to make a submission to the United Nations Special Rapporteur outlining transformative actions needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to the environment.1In this submission, we focus on how corruption and environmental crimes are harmfully impacting the environment and the climate and undermining the rights of communities and indigenous peoples across the globe. We lay out concrete recommendations and good practices to combat corruption linked to climate and environmental crimes that will help bring about the transformative change needed to achieve the SDGs.
